Agnetha Faltskog - If I Thought You’d Ever Change Your Mind
Sometimes you will have to take a step back to move ahead. Sometimes you need to return to forgotten times and places to find your way home.
"The musical impressions of my adolescence remain deeply rooted in my soul. This is something I've carried with me through my life. My strongest emotions are connected to these songs.".
That's the essenence of the "manifesto" which has guided Agnetha's selection of material for the 13-track album which is due out later this spring.
Not really knowing if she was ever going to make another album, music remains a focus of Agnetha's everyday life. The project that was to become the new album took a turn and the actual work began three or four years ago when Agnetha instead of "looking for the new" started to look at her own memories. It became her private research project she went back to her own recollections. She got stacks of rare records and re-issues. She read numerous books and researched charts of the sixties.
After numerous sessions in Stockholm's legendary Atlantis Studio - where the first ever Abba recordings were also made thirty years ago - Agnetha Fältskog's first album in 17 years is finally ready.
The premiere single is "If I Thought You'd Ever Change Your Mind". Composed by John Cameron, Agnetha first heard Cilla Black's version of the song in 1969.
"This is very much a song that represents the album but also a song which has been a standout throughout the recordings. We decided early on that this was going to be the first single, even if with a collection like this there is no shortage of potential single. It has a long and telling title." Agnetha says laughing, "and I think it is the most beautiful song".
The album "My Colouring Book" will be released April 19 through Warner Music International. 'If I Thought You'd Ever Change Your Mind' is released April 12.

Master Gee: ilikemusic because... It gives me an opportunity to truly express myself, unlike what happens in an everyday living situation where there are restrictions on you and limitations on you and demands on you and bills to pay, through music I can truly be comfortable with who I am, and do what I really want to do and say what I really want to say.
